We are located at:  ?

We offer both stall and field boarding.  Horses are turned out in small herds, offered 50/50 mix of certified orchard and timothy hay, Triple Crown feeds, and stall boarded horses are offered as much turn out when weather permits.  Feed additives:  rice bran, whole flax seed, black oil sunflower seeds, and beet pulp, plus  alfalfa hay available for an additional fee.  Every boarder are provided their own saddle rack and cubby in tack room and have access to the entire barn’s facilities.  We are only a few minutes horseback ride from the Nokesville community ring and not far from many events and shows in the Northern and Western Virginia area.

Coming this year:

Our barn includes:

  • regular morning inspection of each horse
  • no fee for giving supplements, winter blanketing, nor to put on fly masks, sheets, and fly spray if provided
  • will hold for farrier and vet if horse is well behaved
  • so much more!!

Bio: Scout was purchased to be a fun pleasure riding horse. She learns quickly and likes to be in work. Her favorite gear is “park” but she can move forward if asked. Scout enjoys jumping and I hope to get her skills refined as Kim continues to work with her.

Bio: Nella has been with me since she was 3 years old! She had a very successful in-hand show career as a youngster and took some time off while I finished up college. Since then she has done a little bit of everything- eventing, dressage and hunters. This year we hope to attend some recognized events, move up to Novice level, and show competitively at First level dressage.

Bio: Pye was a rescue originally found to be used as a lesson horse. When she came to us she was in bad shape and over the past few years we have put a lot of work into making her healthy and trusting of people. She is a spunky and sassy mare, with a lot of personality and loves to go! This year we hope to get her out to some local CT’s and hunter shows with her young rider Mary.

Bio: Roo came from the New Holland Auction House as a scared and non-halter broken filly at only 20 months old. She has learned how to be confident, brave, and extremely affectionate in such a short amount of time. Our goals for 2015 are to start under saddle training by late spring or early summer. Her training will be geared towards eventing but she is ultimately the one who will choose her own career.
Fun Fact about your horse: Roo loves to rest her head on my shoulder and just breathe through my hair, occasionally nibbling at a few pieces. She will also sniff at my nose and mouth and give me sweet, sloppy filly kisses

Chronos

Bio: Chronos is my first horse and it was love at first site!  He was imported from Quebec, Canada and has been started lightly under saddle.  He is gentle and curious, and one of the few horse that the breeder could put in the paddock with her stallion.  I hope that he’ll progress well under the guidance of Second Chance Sporthorses and eventually become my hunter equitation mount.  I have quite a bit of riding training to catch up to that level myself, so we can learn together.
Fun Fact about your horse: He was born in his breeder’s garden, right behind her house.  He’s also bilingual and knows ground commands in French and English.

Bio: 
Shard was born in County Waterford in Ireland; and was bred to steeplechase.  She came to Maryland in 2013.  She competed in one race and came in last.  Shortly thereafter her trainer decided that, despite her breeding, steeplechase was not the sport for her.  She moved to Pennsylvania and then in July 2014, Lauren and Shard found each other.  
Fun Fact about your horse:
Shard had a surprise baby, Oliver in April.  Oliver is half Thoroughbred and half Halflinger and lives in Warrenton.  Shard and Lauren are looking forward to getting back in shape now that Shard is off maternity leave!
